Meet The Todd Lykins Band Members - Bios

Todd Lykins

Born in Knoxville, I was raised in a tavern with my mother and grandmother. So therefore I didn’t get a lot of church house visits. However I went to Vacation Bible School. Wooohooo!!!

After playing music in bars for most of my life, I went to a Christian Rock concert that changed my life forever. God let me know right there that I was not living the life He intended and I had to make a change. So, I did and It has been awesome ever since.

Patrick Powers

Patrick PowersPsalm 148 calls us to join with all of Heaven and Earth in praise to our Lord and creator. I knew from an early age that God had placed music and song inside of me. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I realized he placed those things in my heart for a purpose…..His purpose. What a privilege it is to play, sing, and worship our God! Now as a worship leader and musician in my church, I thank God for the opportunity to play for Him and join together with other musicians dedicated to serving Him with the gifts that He has richly blessed us with.

Justin McClure

Justin McClureIn the 5th grade I wanted to play the saxophone, but my father would not let me, saying "You would not like it."  So, I choose the drums, which I have grown to love.

I grew up in a Christian home, and asked Jesus into my life when I was 9 years old.  Throughout my teenage years I was involved in the music ministry at a very small church, running the sound.  As I got older, I started questioning what to do with my life, how to use my talents to serve the lord, and got really frustrated.  So much so, that I was not living for the Lord.

A few years later I recommitted my life to the Lord, and he started opening doors, and showing me music was how I was to serve.  I played in a college praise band for 5 years, and continue to play at various churches in the area.

I am happily married to a beautiful wife, with two of the most wonderful and talented kids. (They get that from me, of course... But don't tell their mom!)

 Bryan McGill

Bryan McGillMy desire to play music started at about age 10 when I took up the trumpet in the school band. I soon became interested in the bass guitar and drove my parents crazy until they finally gave in and bought me my first bass. I fell in love with the instrument and just couldn't keep my hands off of it. Over the past 30 years I have played a variety  of styles of music in a lot of different bands. In September of 2001 I gave my life to Jesus Christ and he took me off the the stage of the bar rooms and dance halls and has allowed me to use my talents to serve him by playing in churchs and in several christian bands. Today I am blessed to be playing with a group of guys who have the same heart for worship that I have. Not to us, but to His name be the glory. He is Jesus Christ!

 Jeff Goins

Jeff GoinsI have always loved music since I can remember. In the recent past I’ve only sang Christian music in church. The bands that I played in were mostly rock, like some of the other guys in the band did.

One day I learned through a friend about Todd. Todd needed someone to share guitar parts in a Christian rock band he was forming. I went home and put in a CD of Todd’s music my friend had given me. As soon as the song’s played I began to love the idea of playing this music. It wasn’t all about the music, which did rock, but the humble message and passion I felt in the lyrics, shamelessly all about serving Jesus Christ. I saw a chance to help make a change in someone else’s life while spiritually strengthening my own. Playing Christian music was one of the easiest decisions in my life. I have no regrets.

It’s been over four years and this band has gone on to be blessed many times over. I’m not speaking of money and certainly not fame. Our true riches are not in hand, but in Heaven. That God given promise we hold close and share with others. Where and whenever we play I can’t help but be reminded that playing music and ministering through Jesus, all at the same time….is a beautiful thing in itself. Oh yea, it’s pretty fun too!
