I grew up in a Christian home, and asked Jesus into my life when I was 9 years old. Throughout my teenage years I was involved in the music ministry at a very small church, running the sound. As I got older, I started questioning what to do with my life, how to use my talents to serve the lord, and got really frustrated. So much so, that I was not living for the Lord. A few years later I recommitted my life to the Lord, and he started opening doors, and showing me music was how I was to serve. I played in a college praise band for 5 years, and continue to play at various churches in the area. I am happily married to a beautiful wife, with two of the most wonderful and talented kids. (They get that from me, of course... But don't tell their mom!)

I have always loved music since I can remember. In the recent past I’ve only sang Christian music in church. The bands that I played in were mostly rock, like some of the other guys in the band did. One day I learned through a friend about Todd. Todd needed someone to share guitar parts in a Christian rock band he was forming. I went home and put in a CD of Todd’s music my friend had given me. As soon as the song’s played I began to love the idea of playing this music. It wasn’t all about the music, which did rock, but the humble message and passion I felt in the lyrics, shamelessly all about serving Jesus Christ. I saw a chance to help make a change in someone else’s life while spiritually strengthening my own. Playing Christian music was one of the easiest decisions in my life. I have no regrets. It’s been over four years and this band has gone on to be blessed many times over. I’m not speaking of money and certainly not fame. Our true riches are not in hand, but in Heaven. That God given promise we hold close and share with others. Where and whenever we play I can’t help but be reminded that playing music and ministering through Jesus, all at the same time….is a beautiful thing in itself. Oh yea, it’s pretty fun too! |
